  • The Department of Children and Families will waive work requirements for individuals participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. More information in the PDF linked above, with links to MyACCESS and the Florida Department of Health's press release regarding this update.

  • Use this search tool provided by Feeding Florida. If you cannot locate food near you, please email tparrish@hcsef.org and we will do our best to connect you with local resources around Lake Okeechobee.

  • If you, or someone in your household, have lost their job or health insurance (or meet other qualifying criteria) you may be eligible to enroll in Health Insurance via the Marketplace as a "Special Enrollment." LORHN staff is trained to help individuals and families apply for health insurance via the Marketplace, Florida KidCare, or Medicaid. Contact tparrish@hcsef.org to schedule an appointment.

Palm Beach, Martin & Okeechobee Counties

  • Both agencies are collaborating to address the public's increasing needs in Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties. Seniors (60+) are encouraged to call the ADRC Helpline at 1-866-684-5885 Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. 2-1-1 is available 24/7, 365 days a year to receive crisis counseling, suicide intervention, information, assessment and referral to community services. You can also connect with 2-1-1 online or by texting your zip code to 898-211.

  • Treasure Coast NA continues to offer daily support by moving many meetings to an online format using Zoom. Help is also available 24/7 on the TCNA Helpline, (772) 232-8676.
